She said two things that are stuck in my head. hopefully, i'll nvr forget them.
Firstly, she was talking about failing and failure with regard to the way we phrase certain things in an email. We may not realise it, but sometimes the way we write things allow others to have a certain impression of you, in this case that she was referring to, making that person who wrote the email look like a failure.
and she was talking about how the Singapore society, particularly the government, does not allow people to fail. And then she said, "But all this is changing, because of Mas Selamat. the escape of Mas Selamat is a failure on the part of the government. and because of this, they have come to realise that nobody or nothing is perfect and failures should be forgiven. So we should really thank this one man, Mas Selamat, who helped this society realise that we should not condemn failures."
ok, i majorly changed the way she said it, but agar agar got her meaning lah.... so yeah, when we fail, we shouldn't be too upset of ourselves but rather, try to stand up again and start all over again till we succeed.
secondly, she was showing some resume that we did and she mentioned that we should never ever put grades in the resume. she said that do u think the employers will look at ur grades and ur GPA? ultimately, it's your work attitude and work experiences that will really help you out. yes, GPA may be the most important thing in your education life, but who cares?
ok, i changed her words again, but the meaning is still there lah.....
i'm really glad that she mentioned the two points above.
she's really like my tuition teacher, Miss Ong. her ideas and thinking are so much like my tutor's. they should really meet each other and talk man. think they'll click.
my tuition tcher once told me that when you go to university, you should study to gain new knowledge. you're not there to compete for grades. studying merely makes up 10% of your entire life. when you go out to work, your attitude is the most important. (come to think of it, another teacher, Mrs Sandra Tan, told me the same things.
Think i've totally lost sight of this admist the competitive environment and letting my first sem's results affect me a whole lot last night that i couldn't sleep, cause i am really afraid to get similar grades this sem....
guess i should just try to concentrate and study to the best of my ability....
i really miss secondary school days and JC days!! MAJORLY. especially when i go back to STC for NPCC trainings. in fact, i do miss relief teaching man!! aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, 1 year ago, i nvr thought i would say this.... haha but here i am, saying it now.
i've just had verbal diarrhoea, better stop now.... =)

1. AH WANG XIN ZHUAN (阿旺新傳)- This is a fairly new show on channel 8 at 7pm. i'm so totally in love with it ok!! can't wait to rush home everyday after school just to watch it! =) and the lead female actress is JESSICA HESTER HSUAN! AAAAAHHHHHHHH i just so totally love this show!! omg, just blogging about it makes me excited! =) and i love the dubbed sound of Ah Wang! So Kawaii neh!! =)

2. CAO GE'S (Gary曹格) LATEST ALBUM: SUPER SUNSHINE- Really love the songs in it. My favourite is Ai Ai (愛愛) (Love Love.... haha goes with my title) and second favourite is Wu Gu (無辜)(Innocent) and third favourite is Mei Mei Yao Kuai Le(妹妹要快樂) (Sister wants to be happy).... haha i can go be a Chinese-English Translator (Btw, the new Taiwan President, Ma Ying-Jeou (馬英九), used to be the translator for the ex-president of Taiwan) ok quite out of point, but the album rocks!
3. I'm also quite into other chinese songs and they include Li Sheng Jie's (李圣杰) Cha Jian Er Guo (擦肩而过) for the album Shou Fang Zi Ru (收放自如). Another one is Yang Zhong Wei's (杨宗纬) new album, Ge Zi (鸽子) in which there are two songs i love, Rang (让) and Yang Cong (洋葱). yeah....
4. the fourth love is a little weird.... haha but, i think i have a crush on my church's parish priest, Father John Wong!! omg.... ok i can't seem to find a photo on him can!! aaarrrrgggghhhh oh yeah i found some (look below).... His homilies (a speech talking about the readings and gospel during mass) are so so so mesmerising! and so is his voice ok?! I SO LOVE IT! AHHHHHH i'm crazy.... and he's really not too bad looking either!
the 7 sins that i last posted up was from his homily during Good Friday, and i managed to attend a mass on Easter Sunday celebrated by him as well! he was so cute during the sunday mass. It was a children's mass (but there were still many adult goers as it's the normal 9am mass) and the choir was formed by children and they sang the version of the Gloria which had clapping in it. But the congregation wasn't really clapping, and so halfway during the song, he said "Clap" in such a cute manner!! (ok i guess u dunno wat i'm talking abt.... haha) BUT he is such an interesting priest as well. for the Eucharistic Celebration (the part where the last supper is 'renacted'), he got all the people who were standing behing the church to gather round the altar! a FIRST that i've seen for any mass! it was so cool as i stood to watch from the pew!
but i really love Father John Wong ok?! haha so much so that i want to join a ministry that he is the spiritual director for! 3 years ago, when he was posted back to Malaysia, i was so upset coz cannot attend his mass anymore.... but he's back for at least another 3 years! yeah.... i can just MELT during his masses! omg omg, but what my friend said is right, God reserves all the best and good-looking people for himself, to do his work so they can attract people to church! haha oh well, can't wait till sunday so i can see him in church. (wish i could be more active in St Mary's so i can get to know him..... oh well)
So yup, these are my loves for now.... but my heart is so melting away looking at Father John Wong's picture carrying a baby (btw, if u don't really think he's that good-looking here or he is too old, he looks better in real life!)

Jesus, remember me, when you come into your kingdom."
by Jacques Berthier, Taizé Community
This Taize song just repeats itself over and over again. But what a great significance it has for we people on Earth. This chant gives us reassurance and hope, that when we die, we don't just disappear and die forever, but there will be a kingdom somewhere in Heaven.
Today's homily during good friday service by Father John Wong was truly inspiring. The 7 last words of Jesus.
1. "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." Lk. 23: 34
2. "This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise." Lk. 23: 43
3. "Woman, behold thy son." Jn. 19: 26-7
4. "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Mk. 15: 34 (Mt. 27: 46)
5. "I thirst." Jn. 19: 28.
6. "It is finished." Jn 19: 30
7. "Into thine hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit." Lk. 23:46
There is a meaning in each and everyone of these words.... The 7th and final word of Jesus is by far the most reassuring, as we know, there is a Heaven somewhere out there, waiting for our arrival someday.

There are days when you just want to stay at home and wallow in sorrow, not wanting to see the world at all.
There are days where you lament to God or yourself about how life sucks and no one understands you.
There are days when you are just so tired and you don't feel like talking to anyone or entertaining anyone.
There are days when you want to just bury your head and cry.
There are days where you say to God: 'Why have you forsaken me?'
There are days where you don't feel like doing anything at all.
There are days where you feel like you are the stupidest person in the world.
There are days where you ask God: 'How come you give divine intervention to that person and not me?'
There are days where you see people being so successful, so talented and so gifted and you ask yourself: 'How come I am not like that?'
There are days where you just feel sad for no ryhme or reason.
There are days where you feel like you should never have been born.
Yesterday night was one of those days....

the hair dresser took almost forever to finish the hair cut. there was this point when i took up my spectacles, and she said she hasn't finished yet.... haha so embarrasing. =p the hairdresser, as ying rui said, should be a perfectionist. she took into account every single detail man. professionalism. I'm impressed.... =)
When i went home, my parents din notice my hair cut.... haha but it is obviously shorter. then when i told them, they said it was nice. mum complained that the fringe too long but it's still nice.... =p
rather satisfied with my new hair cut =) Thank you ah rui for sitting with me for 30 mins and spending the afternoon with me! =) nothing beats a little shopping after school! yup, i'm one happy girl with a new hair cut.
