Godpa is currently in Australia and he's the one who's been following up on my job choice closely. I'm really glad that he's been there for me and have always been the one encouraging me and supporting me in all that I do!
Sometimes, even when he can't bear to let me go, he still encourages me to go ahead and do what I believe is right. Like my US exchange trip.
We've been corresponding through emails these past few days while he's on his workshop. I truly love to receive emails from him, because it's always filled with little excitements in his life. I've been telling him about my life as well, about the orientation which I've attended and my little preparations for my course. Was telling him about the super smart scholars in my squad and perhaps, I was sounding a little pessimistic. His reply:
Dear God-otter,
Peace! You are also a 'scholar of faith'. You'll be fine. Please do not be overcome by these credentials. You have my prayer and support.
The first phrase truly put a smile onto my face! Thanks Godpa! You have no idea how much you mean to me in my life! :)

"Welcome to the working world!" That's what my friend told me on Facebook.... I find it a rather interestingly amusing phrase.... Well, work is something not that desirable, somewhat carrying with it a relatively sad tone, and yet, my friend has decided to 'welcome' me into it with such enthusiasm and positivity! Such sarcasm huh?!
But anyway, I'll be going through 3 days of orientation tomorrow. The official start of work, which is the 9-month training course, will begin on 25th July, Monday. If you ask me whether I'm really looking forward to it, my reply would be 'kinda'... However, I feel that I haven't played enough! Why did the holidays have to end so quickly?? :(
Today was my last day to truly do anything at all. So I took the opportunity to go down to M1 to change my iphone... haha. It isn't spoilt or anything. It's just that the Home button was getting a little unresponsive (and when I say little, I mean really LITTLE!). Sometimes when I press it, it doesn't respond, sometimes, it'll register as a double-click. So I thought, let's just make use of the 1-for-1 exchange (1 year warranty) to change it. The funny thing was, when I reached Paragon, I wanted to go to the washroom first. AND AND AND, I met Miss Giam in there!!!!! haha such a coincidence.
It also just so happened that when I wished her Happy Birthday last week, we commented that we should meet up with each other either on Monday or Tuesday this week, but I was in Malaysia yesterday and today, being the last day before work, I wanted to just stay home to rest. Really damn qiao lor! And she wanted to go to the M1 shop with her mum-in-law to get her a new phone. So we managed to catch up for a while in the shop.
Btw, many people are utterly shocked by my choice to join the SPF... Especially the teachers. Miss Giam, Mr Tan JS, etc. etc... Sometimes, when I receive that kind of 'feedback face', I get a little discouraged. Did they think I made a rash decision or did they think that it's not suited for me? But Natasha totally made me realise that I did not make a rash decision at all. At the CJ retreat which we were facilitating, she went around telling everybody how while we were still in CJ, I kept telling people I wanted to be in the police force and that was my dream. She said she was really happy for me to have gone on the path that I have dreamed about for such a while. Funny how it takes people around you to help you realise certain things.... I myself have already forgotten the things I said in CJ about this dream.... (the only period I can remember saying I wanna be in the police force was after I started uni) Miss Giam also felt that I am flexible and that I should be able to adapt well... Hopefully what she said is true!
Btw, I got a 'new' phone.... My mum kept saying it's probably a refurbished set, which I believe it is too... But oh wells, should be able to last me another year! :)
