Can you guess what's their age??
.....
.......
The bridegroom..... is the same age as me. 20 freaking years old. And the bride.......... ONLY 18! No your eyes didn't play a trick on you. She's only 18.
Yes my reaction was the same as yours when the bridegroom's parents came to give the wedding invitation card to us, and my parents were telling me his age. I was totally OMG-ING.... and when I saw the newly weds yesterday, my mind just kept playing one phrase- OMG. (Btw, the bridegroom is really short. shorter than his wife, shorter than me)
Yes, it's a shotgun marriage. In fact, the 18-year-old wife had an abortion before already. This is the 'second child'. My mum kept telling me that my cousin's kids are all very ah beng and ah seng one. She was right, I guess. I still can't believe it. The bride and bridegroom's parents are merely in their 40s, already awaiting a grandchild. My parents are already near 60, nowhere near getting a daughter-in-law despite having a 30-year-old son. Oh well.
One day, my tuition teacher just had this sudden urge to ask me something. Her sms went exactly like that: In ur uni, how liberal r d studnts in havg sex? Wantd 2 ask u in my home tat day bt 4got. Newsp said uni studnts havg at least once a wk sex, some evn in public.
I was shocked at her msg. I've read about such reports as well and I know how liberal students can be in the halls and stuff but i'm definitely one of the naive ones. Aft telling her my views, she replied: R u 1 of d liberal ones? Read they even do it in hostel rm dorm even wth doors open. tink cool. I think gettg out of hand- accounts 4 increas abortn+loose culture.
I am certainly not one of the liberal ones. In fact, i'm probably one of the most conservative ones. Innocent and totally dun believe in pre-marital sex. Religion really plays a huge part in this. And i still believe that the best gift you can ever give to your husband is your virginity. Hopefully, I can find a guy who thinks the same as me. How many of such guys are still left in this world??
I was really curious yesterday, and i decided to ask my dad how he met my mum (of course, when my mum wasn't around, haha). Their love story is really quite interesting. My dad was a policeman then, and my mum was already working in Singapore at that time (she was from Malaysia). Apparently, my mum called the police station trying to look for someone, but my dad was the one who picked up the phone and they just started talking.
Yes, I had the same puzzled face as you yesterday when i questioned my dad. So i asked, " Huh, why so weird and coincidental one?" And his reply was a really really good answer.
"It's just fate lah."
=) so totally cute rite? love my parents! =)

| What Anne Lim Means |
![]() You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way! |

We were lucky to seea sunset in Japan on the very first day of the trip. Woohoo.... a picture perfect photo. =)
God made so many flowers for our eyes to rest on.
Went to this temple, Dong Da Si (forgot the jap name), where there were many deers around. So cute, and they're not afraid of humans.
My mum looking cute with a deer. =)
Looks like the deer really likes me??
This is a view from another temple. Kyo Mizu temple, qing shui si. From a hill, or was it a mountain??
An upward view from Kyo Mizu temple.
Their temples are really nice and peaceful and the view really allows one to relax.
Also taken within the temple. What's better than a place of worship surrounded by nature? Really awesome.
A close up view of a tree. Nice leaves.
On the road to Mount Fuji! Homes with farms.
Can you see Mount Fuji in this photo? When we went there, Mount Fuiji was hidden between clouds, one above, one below, so can only see middle view of Mount Fuji. Click on the pic to see a zoomed in view and a really clear pic of Mount Fuji!
Yet another photo of Mount Fuji. This one can see the shape of Mount Fuji.
Really straight trees. Can never see in Singapore.
Cherry Blossoms aka Sakura! We were lucky once again because it was actually past the Cherry Blossom season, but still managed to catch the late blooming ones.
On the road up Mount Fuji. Snow snow snow!

There are actually five steps that the bus can drive up. Depending on the weather, when we reach the gate, the people will tell us which step we can go up to. We were luck again, can go all the way up, up, up despite light rains and dark sky. 2305m. My mum's umbrella broke while we were on Mount Fuji. Haha....
Already melting ice....
A village near Mount Fuji.
Beautiful flowers.
View from our hotel for the night. In that hotel, there was the Onsen bath, wen quan, had to go in naked. I went!! With tour mates and mum. My tour mates are pretty cool.... Average age of 30 plus.
A garden in front of the hotel. Nope, this is not cherry blossom, think it's mei hua or something.
Lake Kawaguchi, right in front of the hotel and near Mount Fuji.
A view from another hotel lobby. Sheraton Miyako. Yup, we managed to stay in a 5-star hotel! =)
This is actually a waterfall in Disneyland Tokyo while we were on the River Cruise. There were tons of people! Because it was their Golden Week, an annual holiday week including children's day and public holiday. Only managed to ride 5 rides because we had to queue around one hour for each rides. The jap are really cool people. They're polite and they never ever complain ever in the long queues. Imagine Singaporeans being there.....- Japan trip- all things natural
