Price was $300 plus during the last IT show. Now, it's $199. 8GB Sony A728 MP3.
My old MP3 actually costs $199 3 years ago. 1GB only.... Sony as well.
But, I still love both MP3s. =)

Then I thought of why. Well, in pri and sec sch, it's probably a compulsory thing. No choice. But in a tertiary educational instituition, it's probably in a CCA where we can find a place to belong. At least for me, this is absolutely true. Sometimes, I feel like a lonesome soul in NTU. Especially on Wednesdays where most of my lessons are electives. I always feel delighted when I meet my CCA friends or school friends, or any friends for that matter.
When you find a place of belonging in your CCA, it's the place you can consider your second home. Last year, I didn't really have a sense of belonging for CSA (Catholic Students' Apostolate). That was why I didn't feel like going for their activities and their masses, etc. After this year's FOC, I felt more comfortable and naturally, I wanted to go for their activities more.... So CCA can equals to one thing, and that is BELONGING.
Random 2: I've been making friends with people that I don't really know. In lectures and in my lab. two weeks ago, we had our first lab session. rmb the 6 hours one i blogged about? there, i met many new friends. Due to the fact that lab reports and experiments are kinda 'catch no ball' ones, i had to try and find people who were doing the same experiment as me (diff. people assigned diff experiments). Managed to find at least 4 new friends. woohoo. Kennard, Mei Qin and the rest, i kinda forgot their names.
At lectures, such as MAS801 where i sometimes get confused and have no friends to ask (Maths module no one that I know want to take), I need to clarify some doubts with people around me. The second week, I managed to meet this girl and I just asked her a few questions when she asked me one. haha. Today, I met this China guy and he's super smart! Answered all my questions perfectly. I do think that the lecturer should slow down a little though. Today, he went like a bullet train.
Oh and I got to know the girl I met in the second week of lecture better. She's Hui Ling from maths and she takes the same econs module as me. We even talked all the way, on the bus, from school to the interchange. Glad to have known her.
Yup, two random thoughts. Should go to sleep now. 6 hours of excruciating lab session waiting for me tmr morning.

Your hurts are my hurts too.
It's ok Li Jiawei. You have fought not just one, but TWO TOUGH battles yesterday!
I salute you for your fighting spirit in both battles.
Your tears showed that you wanted the medal badly, after the 2004 Athens Olympics, but you should be proud of yourself for all the hard work you've put in and being able to squeeze into the top 4 for the Table Tennis Singles.
I do hope that this is not your last Olympics, but it will be your choice.
Your Team silver medal will go down in history!
WELL DONE LI JIAWEI AND THE REST OF TEAM SINGAPORE!
- You have done well alr!

Now got medal, people ALSO complain.
What is wrong with you people?
Is it really so important that there were not born in Singapore?
Do you really have to be so pessimistic about them getting a medal?
For me, I have already treated them as Singaporeans. Our very own Singaporeans. They have played for us tremendously hard and it was their choice to choose whether they wanted to play for us. They made that choice to be a Singapore citizen. To have our flags raised instead of their home-born country flags. To don our colours instead of their home-born ones.
If you want to complain, why not you go and try to get a medal for Singapore instead? Do you think it is that simple? If you think they should nurture you instead of them, are you going to be willing to let go of all your studies, jobs and your "bright future" for a sport?
I still stick to my point. Well done to Li Jiawei, Wang Yuegu and Feng Tianwei! Not forgetting Tao Li, and even our trailblazer, Jing Junhong! I am behind Team Singapore always!

Event number 1:
About a week ago, I had my Toastmasters at the CC as usual. The sessions usually ends rather late and after we pack up, the CC office is normally closed already. This time round, I kept the keys for the mini-theatre and the club sponsor told me to hand in the keys the next day, Wednesday.
One week later, two days ago, we had a meeting for a few of the members to discuss certain issues. I happily went for it and discovered that the keys were not in the office. Thinking that another member had already drawn the keys, I went up and realised that the room was locked. OMG! I had kept the keys for an entire week without realising it! I keep thnking to myself, they didn't use the room for an entire week? impossible.... I ran home and found the keys sitting happily in my bag.
Event number 2:
Today is my first day of lab for this semester. Lab coat and goggles required. Yesterday, when i reached home at 9.30p.m., I started to look for the lab coat and goggles. My lab coat was easy to find as I leave it in the cupboard. But the goggles..... I searched every nook and cranny of my house. My mum was screaming at me like mad complaining that I have too much rubbish on the table, too many bags on the chair, too many this, too many that.... And after 20 long long minutes, I realised something. Maybe I should check the pockets of my lab coat. And there it was. The goggles was sleeping happily in my lab coat pocket.

OMG!! Like what the hell..... Am i getting old or just forgetful?
Today, I really felt like dying. I'm down with the irritating sickness called flu (lasted for 3 days already). And as I said above, today is the first day of my lab. SIX SIX SIX freaking hours of lab work (yes, this is the number of hours in the lab each week). Although it is an open concept lab, that means we can come and go at anytime, the lab will close at 3.30pm and we have to finish our lab work by then.
I repeated my stupid experiment 2 times after 2 failures (not getting my crystals and adding wrong amount of reagent)!! Seriously had no time to stop at all. I didn't have lunch (my stomach was growling like mad) on top of being sick and the very nice professor confiscated my water bottle after he saw me drinking water in the lab. I pleaded with him saying I was sick but to no avail! My throat was totally dry by the end of lab. I couldn't even drink water cooler water coz i'm coughing. How good can this get??

Tao Li has qualified for the finals in the 100m Butterfly Swimming event.
Yesterday, she qualified for the semi-finals which was held today and today, she managed to qualify for the finals with the 4th fastest time!! And she broke the Asian record.
She has a realistic shot at the medals!
Tomorrow morning at 10.24am, my eyes will be fixed to the screen, to see Tao Li make history. She has already done a very very good job. No Singaporean swimmer has made it to the Olympics final.
We are behind you Team Singapore! =)

Well, i do believe that this week wasn't a really wasted week. Despite me having to drag myself out of bed every morning at 7 plus, I managed to take home something from this module. Not just things about entrepreneurship, but also getting to know my school mates better and even discovering more about myself.
It was a really scary process this early afternoon. My heart pumped like it never pumped before. The last time I remember it pumping so so hard was just before my driving test nearly half a year ago. (Time really passes like a Tasmanian Devil zooming around non-stop)
We had to do a presentation on a local entrepreneur and my group chose to talk about Thai Express CEO, Ivan Lee. Coincidentally, another group decided to do on the same person. Naturally, we would want to present first. Unfortunately, my group lost in the balloting.... aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh..... that was when my heart started working so hard.
Thank goodness, my group did well! Good job CJ7! Our group leader really saved us well at the last part during question and answer. He brought up two more points and our tutor said that what he said answers any questions that may be on anyone's minds and no questions were asked. =)
For this module, I got the opportunity to do something that I haven't done in a long long long time. And that is to act! I savoured every moment of it and I felt relieved plus happy at the end of it. Our tutor said, "Anne, I never knew you could act so well." *Cloud 9* =)
I remember that in sec sch, my ambition was to be an actress. I never got to pursue it due to practical reasons..... But this will definitely stay as my closet ambition for a long time to come! Anyone got any lobangs?? =)
