Yesterday was Mid-Autumn Festival.

It was also your birthday.

Every time I look at the moon on this day, I'll think of you.

I'll think of the time we spent together, playing poker cards, eating your favourite cake and I remember that you would always give me the $20 when I visited you. It used to be an every Sunday affair, then it gradually reduced to occasional weekday visits when Dad wasn't working. Soon, it became Chinese New Year and some rare day visits. Everyone was just so busy with their own stuff.

Dad always told me stories about you. How he would cry when he did not see fish on the table, and you would always give in to him and go to the market to get some. How you never ever scolded your own kids. How you survived World War II.

My own experiences with you were considered rather little. But I would never forget some of them. Remember how I always brought my own toys to your house, lego and all and played on my own, while you played poker with Dad. And I remember this occasion as well, where you were already very old. I would speak to you in my broken Teochew mixed with Hokkien. And you asked me whether I was married already, and how old I was. I told you I wasn't and that I was your son's daughter.

I still remember your face after 3 years.

It's been 3 years since you left. How have you been? I miss you and I will always love you Grandma....
