Well, 2009 has been a year of ups and downs. To tell you the truth, it's a year of more ups than downs.
In school, I felt better as compared to last year. I knew more faces, I felt more confident academically. But of course, there are some downs. There were stresses felt throughout the year. I do still feel like a stranger in CSA. I still don't really like NTU as much as I like my other schools. Oh well, guess it'll stay like that for the remaining 2 and a half years.
In terms of leisure, I was lucky. I visited three new countries this year.
The first being Macau and Shenzhen, China. This was during the Chinese New Year period in February and I went with my entire family.

The second was to Japan in May, and I went with my dear mum. Japan is my favourite country thus far. I really love the people, the cleanliness, the weather and the environment. I might not want to live there though, because it is so fast-paced, even faster than Singapore's. The third was to Sydney, Australia in July for the World Youth Day. An international gathering of Catholic youth around the world. A fantastic opportunity for me to learn more about my own faith, get in touch with God and I suddenly realised that the Catholic faith is really made up of an international community, all believing in the same values and traditions. Spent an entire 2 weeks 4 days there!
This was also my 7th time away from home without my family. First time was in Pri 6 with my primary school to Chiangmai, Thailand. Second time was in Sec 2 for a leadership training camp in Kota Tinggi. Third time was in Sec 3 to Taman Negara with the entire sec 3 cohort in STC. Fourth was in J1 to Mawai with CJC. Fifth was in J1 as well, to Chiangrai, Thailand for OCIP. Sixth was after I graduated from JC and I went to Hong Kong with Bestie only.
In relationships, I still continually meet up with Jiemeis every now and then, albeit less than before, but we still laugh like crazy whenever we meet. The clique still meets during birthdays as well, but now, we'll have one less member till 13 June 09. Petrina, we already miss you loads!!!!! Please come back quickly from Seattle!
My family is still as before. =)
In CCAs, I was involved in 2 FOCs, although one, I must admit, because of my Sydney trip, I wasn't much involved at all. It's been a crazy year.
Whenever I'm not doing anything academically related or friends related or family related, it would be my CCAs and other external activities.. CSA, NPCC, Toastmasters, Youth Council. I hardly caught a breath this entire year. It's rather scary how much I did within this year alone. Just hope next year won't be as crazy as this.
This year has been a pretty good year for me. Hope 2009 will be an even GREATER YEAR!! Woohoo, have a happy new year! =)

I initially had tons to blog about since we're approaching the end of the year in around 26 hours time, but now, sitting here in front of my lappie, I just seem lost for words!Yesterday was the first time in many many many years that I held hands..... With my MOTHER!! Forgot how it actually started but throughout our shopping journey yesterday, we just held hands every now and then. I felt like a kid again, but it was a nice warm feeling. =) Was really happy yesterday. I also made a vow to myself yesterday that I'm just going to earn money and let my parents live a good life when I start working, so they need not worry for the rest of their lives. Not that they're worrying now, but i just want to ensure that they lead a comfortable life, able to travel overseas and enjoy the little pleasures of life.My mum made a random comment, while we were waiting for the bus, that someone commented on hers and her good friend's hands being rough and ugly. I felt upset at that point in time. All the work that she has done, all for the sake of my brother and me, has caused her hands to lose their beauty.I love my parents a lot, though they're not the conventional parents who would hug and kiss their children from time to time. They're the kind of parents who show their love by working hard to provide a good life for their kids. Now that my mum has gone for a short holiday to Thailand, I suddenly feel so lost! Weird. I used to be excited when my mum was away, so that I would wreck havoc. Now I just wish she can come home as quickly as possible so that I can see her! And she only left for Thailand 4 hours ago. Saturday, please come quickly!

It's really kind of a weird feeling, I don't know how to describe it.I was watching the Rachael Ray show this morning (yes, i had nothing better to do), I didn't know what the show was about. kinda like rojak. The first part, they were teaching how to cook stuff, then it proceeded into something like a Tyra Banks talkshow style. Confusing indeed. They were talking about this person who cannot trust her intuition. And an expert said we should. So the question now is, should i go with my gut feeling????????

Went to watch Madagascar Escape 2 Africa today! An incredible incredible movie! Loved it to bits! People always say that the sequel to a movie is not as good as the first one, but I gotta say that for Madagascar, the sequel was equally as good or even better than the first one!
I was just filled with laughter and tears and laughter and tears and laughter throughout the entire movie. It was heartwarming, touching, hilarious and clever all rolled into one! Amazing, just superbly amazing! Words just cannot descibe how wonderful this movie is!
On a sadder note, I just totally totally can't believe what happened in The Amazing Race 13 today. Only 4 teams were left and 3 would go into the final leg of the race, to reach the $1million dollars.Of all time, of all times, it was Toni and Dallas that had to get eliminated! Argh.... I was totally sad! Dallas left the pouch on a taxi, therefore losing their passports and money, hindering their progress in the second last leg of the race. What a downfall.
Toni and Dallas is my favourite team this season, but it was not to be.... A really strong mother and son team. I hardly saw them lose their tempers at each other. In fact, I don't remember them even fighting at all. The nicest team on TAR13. Shucks, really wanted to see them win the million dollars. Toni single-handedly raised Dallas up. Such a steadfast Mum-Son relationship they have, all shown throughout the race. Oh well, we just got to accept it. Good luck to the rest of the 3 teams....
