Today, Singapore Poly was having some campus relay run, and my friend Jonathan was racing in it with his team of ten people. He asked a few of us to help him out in the race by being checkpoint helpers, look out for his team runners and help to ensure that the right person ran at the right time.
Being the nice me, I agreed to help him out in exchange for a dinner treat in the evening after his victorious run.
However, during the race, everything was very chaotic. There were probably more than 150 teams running at the same time (meaning at least 150 people on the race track) and the resting runners plus their helpers were all at the side of the road, squeezing each other and crowding on the sides of the road.
My friend and I left our bags on the path but soon after the race began, we started moving more and more into the roads, like all the other people. Damn! Huge mistake....
When the race finished, Jonathan brought my friend and I to the starting point to sit down and rest. When I finally opened my wallet to keep a ticket for Jonathan, I found out that all my money was gone!!!!!
Damn it.... Bloody hell!!!!!!!!
Although $27 might not seem like a lot of money, I was pretty upset. There was a $2 and $5 which were the old ship notes. And there was another $10 note which had a very nice serial number.... I still remember that it contained the numbers 8282 and it was pretty new.
I was seriously seriously upset. Bloody idiot who stole my money! There will be karma....
It is really not the value of money lost which made me upset. Yet, it is the feeling of it, and the old ship notes plus the nice serial number note which I took so much effort not to spend away after it has been in my wallet for months. =(
However, I have to thank God that my cards were all intact, and my MP3 was still in my bag. Luckily my handphone was in my pocket all the while and my friend who left her bag beside mine did not lose anything. Also, I had wanted to draw out $60 today, $50 for my concession and $10 for my own usage. Thankfully, the ATM didn't have $10 notes and I only drew $50, after which, I immediately bought my bus concession at the MRT station. If not, I would have lost much more. I believe this is one of God's small miracles for today. =)
This is really one expensive and painful lesson for me, and I vow that I shall not be so careless and be so trusting anymore.

Have been wanting to update, but blogspot has been going rather crazy these few days.... probably due to their upgrading to a new interface... (but it seems that the new interface doesn't help much, i can't change the fonts and the size of the fonts... weird)
Well, it's been a crazy two weeks for me and I'm looking forward to a short holiday trip to Malaysia with my CSA friends.
Just the 5 of us. Some HTHT (Heart to heart talk) and some entertainment and fun! Woohoo!!!!!
Speaking of which, I've just attended two FOC camps. Helping out as GLs for both.
The first one was CSA FOC camp at HomeTeam NS chalets. It was very much different from the camp last year, not in term of programme, but rather the organisation of the Main Comm. There was tension and unhappiness (much to my surprise) but it all came down to much treasured learning points. Although I wasn't directly involved in all the emotions and fights, I still learnt my bit and my attachment to CSA became more anchored. I feel much more a part of them and it has made me think about stepping up into their exco. Discernment and prayer still much needed here. I realised that my Minor has helped me to think and reflect more, not only in the practical aspect of life, but also the spiritual aspect, which is something I am glad for. It's something I need to be closer to God, something for my spiritual growth. I do hope that the main comm may be able to solve their problems and unhappiness soon, to give a nice wrap to the wonderful camp that was held....

The second camp was my NTU NPCC FOC held at Costa Sands Pasir Ris chalets. Compared to the CSA one, it sort of went more smoothly, which was to my surprise....
Why was it to my surprise? - Well, the team was rather lost at the beginning, and their planning process was much less organised. However, having someone in the team with experience in Orientation Camps was indeed a hidden treasure to the team. I was impressed, to tell you honestly. The team worked together and there was hardly any tension. However, did they take away as many learning points as the CSA people did? That I wouldn't know. I believe both were thrown into different situations and were constrained by different environments. Although the NPCC one had more money issues, it did not bother them and did not stop them from holding a successful FOC. ALthough they needed a wake-up call from my long email, they managed to give their all in the last two months. I'm truly impressed and proud of my Functions team plus their main comm. No doubt! Congrats guys, you have done it!

Much for me to think and reflect about with these two FOCs in mind....
Btw, Harry Potter movie was great, although everyone around me said it wasn't.... (luckily I did not re-read the book before the movie, but now I am!!!!!) Although I've read the entire series once through, I still find great joy in re-reading the books! Woohoo!!!!!
Much more to look forward to this week =)
Today is St Anne's Feast Day by the way! *Grins*
P.S. how come blogger doesn't allow us to upload pics directly anymore???!!!!! *Angry* -Solved....

The King of Pop....
The Greatest Entertainer ever....
The world has lost a truly talented and fastastic singer, dancer, performer....
I have never been a fan of his, but just watching his memorial held today morning (Singapore time), I couldn't help but feel sadness welling up in me. I suddenly felt a great sense of loss for the world. His music has been great, his dances has been mesmerising. His controversies were parked behind for a while as everyone mourned his death, while celebrating his life.
Thank you Michael Jackson for your music. You will truly be missed by many....
You have Healed the World in your own right...
