And yes, now i'm stealing a little time from studying to blog about something that happened on 14th November 2009.
Guess who i saw in Sunny Singapore?
Obama.
Barack Obama.
President of the United Stated of America.
Yes you didn't see wrongly. So i was one of those volunteers (or as they call Apec Ambassadors), just before my exam period, who actually helped out in such a high profile event. I got to see all the other ministers as well! I guess I'm really lucky. Most of the volunteers had to help out for at least 2 to 3 days, but I only had to help out in one, and the day which they chose for me was the most important day (to me) throughout the entire APEC meeting in Singapore.

I was stationed outside the theatre where all the important people walked pass. All within 2 metres of my view. Such luck. Such bliss. =) Unfortunately, Obama wasn't there for the show and I only saw him from about 10 metres away from the tent, where they were eating, just as he was about to leave in his car.
The whole evening was really enjoyable! We managed to savour the local delights which the delegates (who were not in the tent) got to eat (Chicken Rice, Ice Kachang, etc.) and even had a chance to take photos with the exhibits that were put up (Peranakan wedding, Malay wedding, etc.) Really good experience! Must volunteer for such large scale events in future again.
