Then I thought of why. Well, in pri and sec sch, it's probably a compulsory thing. No choice. But in a tertiary educational instituition, it's probably in a CCA where we can find a place to belong. At least for me, this is absolutely true. Sometimes, I feel like a lonesome soul in NTU. Especially on Wednesdays where most of my lessons are electives. I always feel delighted when I meet my CCA friends or school friends, or any friends for that matter.
When you find a place of belonging in your CCA, it's the place you can consider your second home. Last year, I didn't really have a sense of belonging for CSA (Catholic Students' Apostolate). That was why I didn't feel like going for their activities and their masses, etc. After this year's FOC, I felt more comfortable and naturally, I wanted to go for their activities more.... So CCA can equals to one thing, and that is BELONGING.
Random 2: I've been making friends with people that I don't really know. In lectures and in my lab. two weeks ago, we had our first lab session. rmb the 6 hours one i blogged about? there, i met many new friends. Due to the fact that lab reports and experiments are kinda 'catch no ball' ones, i had to try and find people who were doing the same experiment as me (diff. people assigned diff experiments). Managed to find at least 4 new friends. woohoo. Kennard, Mei Qin and the rest, i kinda forgot their names.
At lectures, such as MAS801 where i sometimes get confused and have no friends to ask (Maths module no one that I know want to take), I need to clarify some doubts with people around me. The second week, I managed to meet this girl and I just asked her a few questions when she asked me one. haha. Today, I met this China guy and he's super smart! Answered all my questions perfectly. I do think that the lecturer should slow down a little though. Today, he went like a bullet train.
Oh and I got to know the girl I met in the second week of lecture better. She's Hui Ling from maths and she takes the same econs module as me. We even talked all the way, on the bus, from school to the interchange. Glad to have known her.
Yup, two random thoughts. Should go to sleep now. 6 hours of excruciating lab session waiting for me tmr morning.
